Arrived 3.5hrs early. Sat in reception area when approached by staff (Kyrie) that we could do registration and see if a room is available. Room was available so checked in, instead of 1500. Hotel is next to Air Base and Camp. Room is on 3rd floor. From reception, take right, into lift to 2nd floor, Take right thru lobby and go over bridge to 2nd complex which is L3-6. Room has good size bathroom and enough room to move around in bedroom itself. It has a small table, 2 chairs, an Espresso machine with 2pods and a kettle with 2 coffee satchets (asked housekeeping for lots of pods & satchets). Wardrobe has slide out mirror, safe, iron + ironing board and hairdryer. There is a self-service laundry(4 tokens for washer, 4 tokens for dryer), lounge and vending machine on L4. Had complimentary Breakfast (7-10). Basic breakfast and you can ask the chef (Adam) for eggs (had an omlette). It is Buffett so don't be shy to grab more if hungry, I made sure I was full. I was approached by Kyrie at reception to see if I was ok, said I was waiting for the coffee station to open...if you need coffee (there is a self serve coffee machine by toaster) just ask the White Olive staff who will make you a takeaway cup. 7 - 8.30 is quiet and not packed so I recommend dining then. The Hotel has a free Shuttle service to Changi Village, Pasir Ris MRT via Civil Service Center (CSC) 1, 2. CSC 1 has a pool and gym, you need to swap your room card (you get 2) at Cove reception to use the gym at CSC and also see Cove reception to book ahead if you want to use the pool as you'll need a wrist band. Shuttle times are located at reception and outside the main door.

We arrived after a long flight and were welcomed by a lovely young man. He was attentive to our requirements. Showed us how to walk down to the boardwalk, and where we could get the complimentary shuttle back to the hotel after our meal. He suggested we take umbrellas as it is the rainy season in Singapore. When we said we had to leave early next morning for a flight he attentively arranged our taxi and early morning call and said that as we would miss breakfast he would have sandwiches and a drink ready to take with us. It is the small things that make the difference so well done.

The bed was very comfortable. Sound isolation appears to be good - we didn't hear a thing at night. The toilet was spacious, with plentiful hot water in the shower. The buffet breakfast was good. The a la carte menu is rather limited but the dishes were very tasty. Taxi to / from the airport is typically under 30 minutes. The tropical garden looks enticing but unfortunately guests are not allowed to wander through it. The room had a kettle, a coffee maker and two complementary coffee capsules.

We chose this hotel because we had limited time between flights and could not use one of the transit hotels as our luggage could not be checked through to the next destination. It turned out to be located further from the airport than anticipated (15min taxi journey). The receptionist understood the inconvenience of our very early flight next morning and was very helpful arranging a wakeup call and taxi back to the airport. Facilities are basic but perfectly adequate.

Not everybody’s cup of tea but we enjoyed the short stay and will stay there again next month. A short enough taxi ride from the airport and located in the quiet end of the island which we love. This is very much in a “heritage” part of Singapore and far from the cosmopolitan shopping Mecca of Orchard Rd that most tourists associate with the city state. However, you can still get there easily enough in 30 minutes by taxi or via the MRT at Pasir Ris.
